Tobaconist / Lottery Shop

I gather that the tobaconist in La Marina Urb will open on 1st July for what I understand to be a three month period. The new politicians in The Town Hall have already shown themselves to be prepared for change and I therefore wonder if it is possible for our tobaconist to be open all year round. Here in San Fulgencio the vast majority of the residents live on La Marina Urb, however, at the moment we are all needing to drive to San Fulgencio or La Marina village if we need cigarettes or lottery tickets, all of which seems unnecessary if we had our own tobaconist/lottery shop?

Easy Solution here - just give up the fags - disgusting habit !!

I was told by a tobac owner, that you have to have a certain population to be able to have a tobac shop, and that la Marina Urb only reach that figure in the holiday months.hence we only have a tobac shop in that period.Weird really when you think that in the winter we have more bars than we do residents, but they still manange to stay open if just to pay the bills

Wow what i find weird about that myself Alan is La Marina urb. is one of the biggest in europe and we cant even manage to open a tobaconist all year round. As remember if you use the tobaconist in the village your funding elche town hall

Yes andi, you are right about funding Elche,Also some of the Village tobac staff havnt been taught about customer service,I look upon them and some of the staff in Lidl,as the worst customer care people I have seen.Of course the obvious answer would be to go to the little tobac.in San Fulhencio, who seem to learned customer care, and that way our local town hall benefit.
The other point you make is valid to the point of the size of the Urb.to the size of San Fulhencio. But the Urb is pretty sparse of people in the cooler months, where as the ¨'Town' is mainly Spanish permanent residents

Alan,
I appreciate your input but if San Fulgencio Village with its very, very limited population can justify having a tobaconist/Lottery Shop the the Urbanisation certainly can?

Angelique,I didnt explain my comment very well, about the tobac shop.I should of made it plain, that the population of the 'Town and the Urb.warrant one permanent tobac.either in the 'Town or the Urb.Plus another temporary one in the Summer months as this area swells in population for those months.I gather the 'Town was chosen as it has a more regular clientele throughout the year.
Also i am trying to understand your comment to Nikki`s reply concerning her spelling.

Alan,
I think we are all aware of the fact the current tobaconist/lottery shop is in San Fulgencio. I have not seen anyone deny that this is 100% accurate, however, the population of the Urb. far out weighs the population of San Fulgencio irrespective of season. I do not know of any reason why we could not have a tobaconist/lottery shop permanently here on the Urb. Do you yourself know of any reason? If the politicians decide to issue a further licence then they will do it, will they not?

Correct me if Im wrong, I thought The La Marina Urbanisation was in San Fulgencio therefore making it one place and not somewhere different. Therefore it only warrants one permanent tabbaco shop. Yes?

Do any of our politicians read these posts or are we simply wasting our time?
I certainly have not received any comments from anyone from The San Fulgencio Ivory Tower!

I suppose your right Angelique, but what about the pollution of the cigarettes themselves! and what about the journey to and from Mercadona, Iceland and Lidls. Does anyone think of that?

Malcolm!
I agree with you, cigarette contamination is not good but neither you nor I will stop that? However, the opening of a permanent shop in the Urb is a start to get to grips with the problem, is it not?
